"2018 LASG Postgraduate Academic Forum" was successfully held on November 16, 2018. More than a hundred graduate students and researchers attended.
The event covered four topics: earth system model development and application, weather and climate dynamics, climate change, the predictability of weather and climate, and theories and methods of climate prediction. 12 postgraduates gave oral reports and 12 contributed posters. By presenting their research in formal oral or poster, students shared diverse ideas, strengthened academic communication and learned new field of study. In the discussion session, a specific jury composed of a number of senior LASG scientists evaluated each presentation and poster. Judges encouraged students to delve into the atmosphere science, take every opportunity possible to present their work. They also shared their experience in delivering a good report on different occasions. In the closing ceremony, excellent reports and posters were awarded. The event were concluded in a warm atmosphere.
The forum organized by LASG Student Union provided a free and relaxed platform for postgraduates to interact and review their progress to date and come up with ideas for further research.
