On October 17th 2017, the project of "Monitoring and Application of High Spatial and Temporal Resolution Carbon Emissions in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei City Cluster" (2017YFB0504000) kick-off meeting was held at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The meeting aimed at starting the project and made a report on the project implementation plan and research progress of each subject.
Academician Guanhua XU from the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, Prof. Chuanrong LI from Academy of Opto-Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chief Engineer Naimeng LU from National Satellite Meteorological Center, Director Jiang ZHU from IAP, Prof. Huaqing XU from National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, Prof. Yun GAO from Division of Science and Climate Change, China Meteorological Administration, Deputy Director Jianxiang YUAN from High Technology Research and Development Center, Chief Engineer Songmei ZHANG from National Remote Sensing Center of China, IAP Strategic Planning Branch Director Yifen PU, IAP Technology Department Director Lu ZHANG, LASG Director Ziniu XIAO and other leaders, experts and project team members attended the meeting.
Prof. Ziniu XIAO chaired the opening ceremony, Jiang ZHU, Jianxiang YUAN, Songmei ZHANG and Xiaobo REN delivered the opening address. They made valuable comments on the project management, and Director Jiang ZHU presented Experts Certificates to members of the expert group of the project. Prof. Ning ZENG introduced the project implementation plan, and the key members of the project reported the research progress and prospects. The expert group listened attentively to the report, Prof. Guanghua XU, Prof. Chuanrong LI and Prof. Naimeng LU came up with valuable suggestions to the project, the revision of the implementation plan and the cooperation among the sub-projects. Finally, the experts formed a consensus that the project is of great significance, and the project and five sub-projects were well prepared, and the implementation plan was clear, the technical route was feasible, and thus the research task could be successfully completed.
