The aim of University Allied Workshop (UAW) is to encourage cooperative research and graduate student education among university groups carrying climate modeling and analysis in East Asia , which in turn will improve the studies on East Asian regional climate and environment, and in particular, train the talents for climate modelling . In the just finished sixth UAW in Seoul, students had warm discussion on climate modeling, climate variability, and environment modeling and observation. LASG/IAP students spent about two months preparing their presentation before the workshop and demonstrated good understanding to science and high English proficiency during the workshop. They were also active in the discussion and reception party.
At the end of the workshop, LASG/IAP students proposed to issue the e-journals to continue the good communication of UAW. The initiative by IAP students was supported by all delegates. The first issue of e-journal was prepared by Ms. Xiaohao Qin of LASG/IAP. It will be on quartly basis and each side of UAW will be responsible for one issue.
