The 9^th workshop on Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project/East Asian Climate (9th AMIP/EAC) was held in Fukuoka, from 11 to 13 December. This workshop was to discuss progress, problems and future perspectives of Asian monsoon and related climate phenomena. The sessions of the workshop include atmosphere-land interaction, air-sea interaction, and climate variability etc. LASG organized two sessions—atmosphere-land interaction and climate variability. Dr. Guoxiong Wu and Dr. Guangyu Shi gave invited speeches titled “Recent Progress on the understanding of the Influence of the Tibetan Plateau on the Asian Climate” “Recent climate change in China” “Radiative Forcing of Asian Dust - A Case study”. Dr. Bin Wang, Dr. Jianping Li, Dr. Tianjun Zhou, Dr. Yimin Liu and Dr. Yongqiang Yu also gave presentations. Dr. Bin Wang is the co-ordinator of AMIP/EAC.
