Hotel Rooms' Condition and Reservation

    A wide range of hotels selected by the conference secretariat are located within walking distance of the venue, Beijing International Convention Center (BICC). They are all equipped with private bathroom, color TV, telephone and air-conditioning. The allocation of rooms will follow the "first come, first served" principle. Telephone reservations cannot be accepted. We will publish and update the hotel rooms booking situation on the website. Because August is the tourist season in Beijing, attendees are encouraged to make reservation as soon as possible.

Reservation Deadline

    The deadline for hotel reservation is 30 May 2005. Room availability cannot be guaranteed after this date.

Room Rates

    The daily room rates include breakfast, service and all taxes. As single rooms are limited, the conference secretariat will have to assign double rooms (two beds in each room) for single occupancy, i.e. one person, one room. If you have a roommate, please state his/ her information on the hotel reservation form. The Conference Secretariat will not be responsible for sharing arrangement.

IAMAS 2005 Conference Secretariat has signed contracts with hotels so that participants can get preferential rate as group reservation. The contract expires when the conference finishes. The Conference Secretariat cannot guarantee the low price after that.

*There are a few one-bedroom suites at Crowne Hotel. The daily roomrate is $150.

*Huiyuan Apartment has three types of suite: one-bedroom suite, two-bedroom suite and three-bedroom suite. One bedroom suite ($50) has a bedroom, a sitting room, and a bathroom. Two-bedroom suite has a bigger bedroom ($37), a smaller bedroom ($34), two seperate bathrooms. Three-bedroom suite has a bigger bedroom ($35), two smaller bedrooms ($32 each), and two or three separate bathrooms. Each room is equipped with air-condition. There is a fridge in living room. If you want to book a room, please fill in "the hotel reservation form" above. If you want to book a suite, please email Conference Secretariat directly.

Notes:

The rates quoted above are special discount rates only for the Conference. They include 10% service charge, city construction fee and breakfast for one person (If the room is shared by two persons, one additional breakfast should be paid to the restaurant directly). Extras such as IDD (international direct dialing) and DDD (domestic direct dialing) calls, laundry, minibars, etc. are not included.

Late Arrival

    If a participant does not show up by the following morning, the room will be released at that time and the person charged for the night.

Confirmation of Hotel Reservations

    Participants will receive a written confirmation of their reservation by e-mail. If you do not receive your confirmation within 15 days, please contact the conference secretariat.

Term of Payment

    All accommodation expenses have to be settled directly with the hotels when participants check in.

Transportation

Taxi

It takes about 40 minutes by taxi from Beijing Captial Airport to the convention center and hotel area. Taxi fare from the airport to hotels is about RMB 100 (approx. US$12). Besides this, you have to pay extra 10 RMB for highway fee. We suggest you wait for taxi at the airport designated taxi station (exit No. 7). Please ask for a receipt with the taxi registration number in case you require special assistance when you arrive at the hotel. If someone approaches you in the airport lobby and offers to take you to the hotel, don't take his or her car. The instructions below may help you in taking a taxi to the convention center and your hotels.

Airport Shuttle

Airport shuttle is also available at exit No. 11. Please take shuttle No. 5 or Line E to Zhong Guan Cun and get off at An Hui Qiao Overpass. You may show the instruction below to the driver. The fee is RMB 16 (Approx $2). The earliest shuttle is 8:30 and the latest is 21:30. You will have to walk about 1000 meters to east (where the bus goes) to get to the convention and hotel area.
